Mat Whatley is a former British Army Officer and subsequently as a civilian has held substantial positions in conflict and post-conflict environments including with the Kosovo Verification Mission, the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia and the Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine where he was the leader of the Donetsk operation. Mat has worked for the UN, EU, UK FCO, OSCE, and other international organisations in more than twenty countries. He has a Masters' degree in post-war recovery studies from the University of York.
