Moniek de Jong

PhD researcher at Ghent University

Moniek de Jong is a PhD researcher at Ghent University. Her PhD research focuses on the different political aspects of the Nord Stream 2 gas project. Furthermore, she has done research on the decoupling and decarbonization of energy systems.
In 2015, De Jong was an intern at the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence in Vilnius, Lithuania. There she worked on critical energy infrastructure projects.

She holds two masters: one in International Relations from the University of Groningen and another in Energy Security Studies from Masaryk University in Brno, the Czech Republic.
