Her research interests include EU-China trade relations (IPR, investment, geographical indications, public procurement, state-owned enterprises and competition) and multilateral EU-Asia relations. Weinian Hu holds degrees from Chinese, British and Belgian universities.
She has acquired extensive experience from working with a global bank in China, an inter-governmental organisation in Singapore, a non-governmental organisation in Malaysia and a leading public affairs agency in Belgium. She has also served as consultant and team leader for the European Union for coordination of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), the multilateral political dialogue process between Asian and the European regions.
