I agree with most as mentioned in this article. It shows the realists approach to IR.
However, stating ‘EU building realtions with all great powers’ and ‘EU safeguards interest without harming others’ does not fit the rest of the article. The main issue is that we cannot be friends with the whole world even if we want to whilst not everybody else in the world wants to be friends with the EU.
Therefore the EU (and the Netherlands) need to be able to bear the consequences of decisions (or non decisions) made.And that is the main problem in today’s EU politics, different nations see the costs differently.
