From 2010-2012 Gys worked for the Centre for Chinese Studies at Stellenbosch University and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as Political Scientist.
Since 2015 he has worked as a consultant and entrepreneur in the field of cryptocurrencies. He currently focuses on cryptocurrencies investments at Coinstone Capital and regularly writes on the topics of tokenization, fairer platform business models and the digitization of currencies.
